My Digital Junk — FOMO

We live in the FOMO-age. Fear of missing out. Some people are afraid of not knowing the new new things. I don’t. But, I have my own “FOMO”-like if you will. I am afraid that I am loosing something that I found on the internet.

Many times I am browsing the internet, going through some kind of rabbit holes. I found an interesting meme or infographics. That is interesting. Fast forward a couple months (or more). I need that nice meme, but alas I could not find it. Aaarrrggghhh. Have you had one of those moments?

Because of that, I am starting collecting digital junk. It’s not just meme or infographics. I am collecting reports, PDF docs, articles, and so one. All kinds of digital files.

Then, the problem begins. My Macbook’s download directory is now full (with these digital junk). Digital space is actually cheap. I bought many external disks. I even created a NAS for these. Cloud storage is also affordable. The problem is managing those files. How do I organize them? I know the information that I have is in one of my disks (or storage), but where is it? I am at this stage.

My name is Budi and I have a problem. I am a digital artifact hoarder.
